The seven nights Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise offers passengers a view of Northern Fiji’s unique history, art and culture.
The cruise visits the world heritage listed Levuka on the island of Ovalau featuring 19th Century colonial architecture and waterfront promenades from colonial rule. The town was Fiji’s first capital from 1874 until 1883. The rugged mountains surrounding it prevented economic growth and Suva was declared the new capital. Levuka froze in time. In 1989 it was designated a historic town and has been recognized UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2013. At Makogai Island experience a traditional Fijian ceremony and walking tour of Makogai leper colony and nursery, home to giant clams and turtles, before visiting a local primary school, for a song and dance performance from the children. Passeners also get the ultimate experience of standing on the 180th Meridian, the natural dateline.
2019 and 2020 departure dates for the Colonial Fiji Discovery Cruise include February 5, April 2, June 4, October 10, 2019 as well as February 4, 2020.
Early Booking Saver fares in a porthole cabin for Northern Fiji seven-night Discovery cruises start around 2,000.00 USD per person double occupancy (PPDO); prices are in Fijian or Australian dollar so the conversion will run something close to that. Fares include shipboard accommodation, all meals, guided village, school and island tours, snorkelling and glass bottom boat excursions, daily island stopovers and water activities, hikes and Kayak safaris, on board entertainment, kids club (5-9yrs), onboard Wi-Fi, 24-hour self-service tea and coffee bar, post cruise transfers to Nadi and Denarau hotels and Nadi airport and use of the ship’s facilities including a swimming pool, spa’s, mini gym, sun deck, cocktail bar and library.
Why Small Ship Cruising?
What makes MV Reef Endeavour exceptional, is her small size allows her to reach remote reefs, islands and shallow bays, where bigger ships cannot proceed. Her design allows for big ship qualities, whilst maintaining a small ship feel. These features include a pool, spa, and an embarkation platform allowing access and storage for smaller boats.
A 2016 refurbishment and dry dock reduced the number of cabins to 63 cabins and she sails with a maximum of 130 passengers.
When is the best time to visit Fiji?
Fiji is great all year round due to its tropical climate. Tempatures run between 80 and 90 degree most of the year with cool evenings in the winter months, June to August, which are also our dryer months. Being a tropical climate afternoon showers are common in the summer months, December to February.
Deposits start and 300 and final payment is not due until 60 days prior to departure, so this is an easy way to budget for a magnificent Fijian Vacation.
